Flat Out Autos Shows Off Chevy KR2 Images Ahead Of SEMA: Video

The annual SEMA Show is just around the corner, which means custom vehicle builders around the world are putting the final touches on their latest and greatest to share with the crowd in Las Vegas. That includes the folks at Flat Out Autos, which plans to hit the show floor with this – the Chevy KR2, a modern interpretation of the legendary K5 Blazer, based on the Chevy Silverado 1500 pickup. Now, Flat Out Autos is sharing some new photos and a video of its Chevy KR2 via social media.

For those readers who may be unaware, Flat Out Autos is a custom car builder out of Jonesboro, Arkansas with a soft spot for modernized GM classics. That includes the company’s modern-day GMC Jimmy, which, as GM Authority covered previously, recreates the classic K5 Chevy Blazer SUV using a modern GMC Sierra 1500 body and chassis.

Now, Flat Out is doing something similar with the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2, adding a strong dose of aggression to the mix. Dubbed the Chevy KR2, the custom build adds in wider FiberwerX fenders are all four corners, under which is a set of 37-inch Nitto Trail Grappler tires. The suspension is upgraded as well thanks to new long-travel off-road components from Dirt King, while up top, there’s a carbon fiber roof from Sankuer Composite Technologies. A RIGd Supply rear tire carrier is added to the rear end.

With the roof off, this custom Chevrolet shows off an exposed rear seating area situated between a set of roll bars. The cabin space is bathed in bright-red leather, which provides quite the contrast to the Glacier Blue Metallic paint that covers the body panels. To sweeten the deal even further, Flat Out Autos says it’s installing a Whipple supercharger under the hood for a little extra power.

The 2023 SEMA Show will officially kick off on October 31^st and will run until November 3^rd.
