This Flat Out Autos 2022 GMC Jimmy Is Available For $150K

As GM Authority has covered in the past, aftermarket company Flat Out Autos offers a GMC Jimmy conversion for folks who yearn for a GM-derived off-road SUV alternative to the Ford Bronco. Recently, one such example of a converted GMC Sierra is available to purchase.

Initially sold on Bring a Trailer for $150,500, this 2022 GMC Jimmy conversion is up for sale again for $149,900, as Flat Out Autos recently posted on social media that the buyer backed out of the transaction. The truck features a clean Carfax report and a Texas title. Notably, there are just 212 miles on the odometer of this build.

Starting with the exterior, Flat Out Autos begins the conversion with a Sierra Regular Cab and shortens the frame, cuts out the back of the cabin to expose it to the bed, and installs a roll bar and bench seat behind the front seats. This particular all-terrain SUV is painted in Porsche Chalk Gray and boasts custom Jimmy badging throughout. The bed cap is color-matched to the body, featuring tinted glass and an integrated rear hatch with a power lock. Additional goodies include LED headlights, red front recovery hooks, AT4 badging, a receiver hitch, a MultiPro tailgate, and quad exhaust tips.

Interestingly, this unit is actually the third conversion built and was on display at SEMA 2023.

As for rollers, this Jimmy rides on black-finished 22-inch Rotiform wheels wrapped in 285/50 Nitto Ridge Grappler tires. Fox shocks and BDS front upper control arms allow for the lifted look, while four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes provide the stopping power.

Moving to the interior, the heated and ventilated front bucket seats are upholstered in a blue leather colorway, a theme that continues into the dash, center console, doors, and side panels. Creature comforts include a wireless cellular phone charger, air conditioning, cruise control, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Out back, a power-folding rear bench seat can be found while the cargo area floor is carpeted.

Under the hood lies the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, which produces 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque in the Sierra. This output is directed to all four wheels through the GM 10-speed automatic transmission.

It’s worth noting that General Motors actually had plans to revive the GMC Jimmy in response to the Ford Bronco. However, the Detroit-based automaker ultimately elected to can the project.

So, what are your thoughts, dear reader? Would you shell out roughly $150,000 for a Flat Out Autos GMC Jimmy conversion, or would you stick with the Sierra? Vote in the poll below, and let us know what you think in the comments section.

  1. Absolutely not. Overpriced, ugly blue leather and bits that clash with the outdated interior, and 22″ idiot rims on a vehicle that is supposed to be for off-road.

    I wish the seller luck.

    1. True, but gm needs to build these again.

I would assume most of the warranty is gone!
