Here’s When Chevy Silverado EV LT, RST And Trail Boss Trim Levels Will Launch

General Motors is rolling out the new Chevy Silverado EV, offering up an all-electric version of the popular pickup nameplate. At present, the 3WT and 4WT are the only trim levels available to order for the battery-driven Silverado. That said, GM Authority has learned when the Chevy Silverado EV LT, non-First-Edition RST, and Trail Boss trim levels will launch, as well.

According to GM Authority sources, the Chevy Silverado EV LT and non-First-Edition RST trims will launch in the second half of the 2024 calendar year. Meanwhile, the Silverado EV Trail Boss trim level is expected to launch in 2025.

The launch of all-electric Silverado EV LT is arguably the most important news here. Although General Motors has yet to release any official information on the trim level, the Silverado EV LT is expected to the most affordable, consumer-focused trim yet, with similar capabilities as the Silverado EV WT trim. The Silverado EV LT is expected to offer two battery size options, likely the same battery options as offered by the Silverado EV 3WT and Silverado EV 4WT, as well as a nicer exterior appearance and upgraded interior compared to the fleet-oriented WT trims. We’re also expecting the Silverado EV LT to feature the same 17.7-inch infotainment screen and 11-inch digital driver instrument cluster as is offered by the Silverado EV RST.

Meanwhile, the Silverado EV RST will be offered as a sporty model variant, but without all the bells and whistles of the range-topping RST First Edition. The Silverado EV Trail Boss will be offered as more off-road-oriented trim and will be equipped with a higher stance, red tow hooks, and beefy off-road tires.

To note, all Silverado EV variants incorporate GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium Drive motors, with the GM BT1 platform providing the underpinnings.

  • Hopefully supercruise is offered as a standalone option from the start. Honestly that mated to the larger battery size is all I need. The turning radius is actually pretty good on the work truck so I don’t need rear steer. That’s the only other option I would want.

  • Saw the Silverado EV RST at an auto show recently.

    Looks fantastic!

Now if the prices would come down to a more affordable level.

    • Just don’t lean against it. Pushed on the box side of one at the Calgary auto show and was shocked how thin it is. The truck is already thousands of pounds heavier than an ICE truck, don’t bother trying to save weight by giving the consumer tinfoil body panels. Make it sturdy.

    • Wait until all the post COVID mortgages come due in 2025, early ‘26. Feds in the U.S. and Canada are warning of a possible 60% increase in payments. My niece had to sell recently because her payments went up over $1,000 a month.

      • I don't get it.

COVID was 2020-2022. A typical mortgage lasts 30 years. How does it "come due" in 2025?

        • You have to refinance your interest rate in Canada. It’s not a fixed rate for the life of the mortgage. Anyone who got a 5 year fixed rate mortgage at 2% in 2020 or 2021, their term is ending and the new interest rates are way higher and that why my niece had to sell. Her rate went from 1.85% to 6%!!

  • Anyone putting a thumbs down for lower prices on EVs need their heads checked! These EV trucks are not worth $96k!

  • Way to go GM. Can't even design an original truck for the EV line. You just redesigned the Avalanche and made it electric.
At least Ford kept it a pick up.

    • Don't kid yourself. Ford released the product that it did because they didn't have a proper EV platform. The Lightning is a mess of an electric vehicle with lower range, less power, and less towing and payload the the Silverado EV. Ford will follow in Chevy's footsteps with the next-gen F-150 EV.
