First breaking cover in July of 2023, the 2024 Chevy Traverse debuts the crossover’s all-new third generation, showing off new exterior styling, an overhauled cabin, new technology features, and a new turbocharged engine. The next-gen Traverse was previously scheduled to begin production earlier this month. However, GM Authority has learned that the start of regular production (SORP) for the 2024 Chevy Traverse has been pushed back to an as-of-yet undisclosed date.
“We expect production of the 2024 Traverse to start soon, with customer deliveries to follow shortly after,” a Chevy spokesperson told GM Authority.
Back in December of 2022, GM Authority reported that the SORP for the 2024 Chevy Traverse was scheduled to kick off in December of the 2023 calendar year. Fast forward a year, and GM Authority later learned that the three-row crossover had a revised production start date scheduled to begin February 12th, 2024. That date has come and gone, and now, it remains unclear when production will begin.
Meanwhile, production of the 2024 Chevy Traverse Limited appears to have been extended beyond its scheduled January 18th end-of-production date at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan. The 2024 Chevy Traverse Limited is offered as stop-gap measure between the outgoing second-generation Traverse and incoming third-generation Traverse.
The next-gen 2024 Chevy Traverse will offer four trim levels, including LS, LT, Z71, and RS, with pricing starting at $38,995 for LS, $41,395 for LT, $47,795 for Z71, and $55,595 for RS. Prices listed here include destination freight charge, set at $1,395. Check out our previous coverage for more information on 2024 Chevy Traverse pricing, including options and packages.
Front-wheel drive is included as standard on LS, LT, and RS trims, with all-wheel drive offered as optional, while the Traverse Z71 is equipped with all-wheel drive as standard. All trims are equipped with the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine as standard, while the GM C1 platform provides the underpinning.

Maybe they are working on quality control. lol
Too Many Mindless Constraints!!!
Weird, then, that I got a VIN number for mine this morning and it is ready for transport.
Your Traverse Limited?
Z71. Thanks though.
What packages did you order with it?
Supercruise and sunroof. You know, the ones found on the limited.
The super cruise is an option within a package. What are the names and codes of the packages you ordered on the config sheet your dealer provided?
Let me know which of these packages indicate Limited so I can cancel my order and get a refund on my deposit please. That would save me a lot of time and money.

Update. I just got a build for my NEW 2024 Traverse RS.
I ordered the vehicle on January 4th. On February 21st I got my final pricing. It was accepted for production of February 27th and I was assigned the build date yesterday of April 8th.
PS Who is Guss?
Incorrect article. They are building them. Your a weeks late on this.
if the 2024 Chevy Traverse is to be built and delivery to start soon after, how come the company has not even released MPG information and other pertinent / detailed information on Chevy website for consumer review and decision-making?
Maybe the shark fin C pillar will grow on me a bit more. I like what they’ve done with the rest of the vehicle.
The large three row crossovers have been among gm’s best products.
They just announced a shutdown of Lansing Delta Township and (practically) everyone is laid off temporarily.
There isn't jack-all coming out of this factory for a month.
We had one built already. Lol
Limited?
Same (RS2)

GM needs to put four-wheel-drive in these trucks this all-wheel-drive just don’t get it. Give us an option for four-wheel-drive again. Make this available in the GMC models. Also terrain. Specially, Acadia also the blazer.
I wonder if these people with orders in and getting vins know they're getting a limited?
I believe they are the new 2024 model. I was into my dealership in Oshawa on February 22nd and they have 5 ready for shipping. I was told there is (was) a problem with the software to enable the headlights to automatically turn on. It sounds like the problem has be resolved because the hold on shipping was lifted on the 5 produced. The hold on mine has been lifted for production.

In the 24 Traverse models in China, it is still unknown whether they are HEV, PHEV, or gasoline powered vehicles
So sick of the delay. I understand the strike happened but either give us a discount or don't even show the 2024. I put a preorder payment for a Z71. More like a 2025 Traverse.
