Three months after the world debut of the 2024 Cadillac XT4 in the United States, General Motors has just announced that Cadillac‘s refreshed compact crossover is coming to China.
The automaker officially launched the refreshed 2024 Cadillac XT4 in China on May 28th alongside the all-new next-generation 2024 Cadillac CT6 and the 2024 Cadillac GT4 crossover, an aggressive product offensive that will rejuvenate the brand’s portfolio in the world’s largest automotive market. The 2024 XT4 arrives in the Asian country with a renewed exterior design, a completely new interior and the brand’s latest technologies.
The main aesthetic novelty of the 2024 Cadillac XT4 is the new front end, which includes more sophisticated lines by adopting the latest evolution of the Cadillac design language. Highlights include the larger shield grille and new split headlamp assembly, which accentuate the brand’s iconic vertical lighting signature with slim bi-directional elements for an aggressive look. It was launched in China with Base, Luxury and Premium Luxury trim levels.
For its part, the the refreshed 2024 Cadillac XT4’s cabin has also been completely updated and features an all-new horizontally arranged dash. The interior features the segment-leading large 33-inch 9K curved display module, housing Cadillac’s latest infotainment system and next-generation 5G connectivity solutions. In addition, it’s available with a 14-speaker AKG Studio premium audio system.
Unlike the model’s single offering in the U.S.,market, the 2024 Cadillac XT4 offers two powertrain configurations in China. The range starts with a turbocharged 1.5L engine that develops 208 horsepower and 200 pound-feet of torque, while the 2.0L I4 LSY with its 48V mild hybrid system remains the most powerful option with 233 horsepower and 258 pound-feet. It comes standard with the GM 9-speed automatic transmission, while all-wheel drive is optional.
The refreshed 2024 Cadillac XT4 is now available for sale at the official Cadillac dealer network in China, where it is manufactured at the Cadillac Jinqiao plant exclusively for the domestic market of that country. Notably, the 2024 XT4 ceded its position as the brand’s entry-level crossover to the all-new GT4, which it differs from with beefier looks and higher ground clearance. GM should be focusing on the US market instead of China. The xt4 should be debuting for people who are interested in this country instead of having to rely on information from elsewhere.
So, China gets a 2024 Hybrid version of the XT4? USA does not?!?! China gets a new XT5 in 2025 and the USA does not…disappointing to some of us Cadillac owners looking to buy that type ICE or Hybrid Cadillac in 2025.
GM may as well move HQ to China. It is no longer interested in US customers.
