General Motors unveiled the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 last September, pulling the sheets on a fully updated pickup with a long list of updates and changes. Among these updates was the introduction of the 2022 Silverado ZR2, the new high-performance off-roader of the lineup. One of the ZR2’s many features is an interesting new Chevy Flow Tie badge with a red inlay.
For those readers who may be unaware, the Chevy Flow Tie badge is a unique aerodynamics feature that enhances cooling properties. Shaped like a traditional Chevy Bow Tie badge, the Flow Tie includes a hollow center that allows additional airflow into the engine bay. The feature was originally developed in conjunction with the 2014 Chevy Camaro Z/28, but has since found its way into a number of Chevy applications, including the Chevy Silverado.
That said, the Chevy Flow Tie has traditionally incorporated a black inlay. By contrast, the Flow Tie badge on the 2022 Silverado ZR2 incorporates a unique red inlay.
Applied to the nose of the 2022 Silverado ZR2, the Chevy Flow Tie badge with the red inlay adds a subtle but effective enhancement to the overall look of the vehicle, complementing details like the red tow hooks and “2” in the ZR2 badge, thus making the off-road pickup stand out even more with regard to the broader 2022 Chevy Silverado lineup.
As a reminder, the 2022 Silverado ZR2 is equipped with advanced Multimatic DSSV dampers and retuned springs for superior off-road control, plus front and rear e-lockers for enhanced traction, and high-approach steel front bumper with removable end caps for enhanced clearance. Under the hood, the 2022 Silverado ZR2 is equipped as standard with the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, which produces 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The V8 connects to a 10-speed automatic transmission and 4WD system.
Pricing for the 2022 Silverado ZR2 starts at $66,795, including the $1,695 destination freight charge.

I thought Chevy said the online configurator was supposed to go live yesterday.
Idk what is worst, if is that they still promoting sales of 2021 model or that LTD aberration.
Looks good but how much more air does it let in??? Love the red inline though.
Any word on when we will be able to use the build and price feature?
What is the black Silverado to the left of the ZR2? Is that a RST?
I wonder if there is more pics of this show?
When the hell are they going to release the pictures of the other refresh models? I want to see the Trail Boss, RST and LTZ.
Perhaps GM could humor us by letting us build one on their website.
It’s quite sad that this truck has been shadowed by the 100k+ Electric Silverado. People complained about the price of this truck and didn’t bat an eye at inexcusable EV pricing.
I am one of three at my dealer with a deposit down. Just let me build the damn thing already
I really like the red inlay - makes me think of the 90's or early 2000's before all Chevys went with gold bowties. The trucks had gold, the cars had blue, and the sportier cars had red outline bowties. I specifically remember that about my 2001 Monte Carlo SS. I'm sure there were a few others in that period that used the red outline Chevy Bowtie.
Chris I was thinking the same thing the Red inlay is so 1990's... I remember the 454SS Chevy Trucks had red bowties and my 1997 Chevy Lumina had a Blue Bowtie. Nice looking Silverado in the picture!
