The 2022 Buick Envision crossover arrives as the second model year of the second-generation vehicle, offering a few small updates and changes over the preceding 2021 model year. Now, prospective buyers can spec the 2022 Buick Envision to taste using the official online configurator.
Compared to the 2021 model year, the 2022 Buick Envision offers revised exterior paint options, including the deletion of Dark Moon Metallic, and the addition of Sapphire Metallic. The latest 2022 model year also deletes the 18-inch aluminum with Bright Silver finish wheels option (RPO code RER), and adds new 18-inch aluminum wheels (RPO code PZK).
Moving into the cabin space, the 2022 Buick Envision deletes the In-Vehicle Air Ionizer system previously included as standard on 2021 Buick Envision Essence and Avenir trim levels. The feature was also offered on Preferred trim levels with the Comfort and Convenience Package. Now, however, the feature is no longer available with the introduction of the 2022 model year.
Further updates compared to the 2021 model year include expanded availability of the Continuous Damping Control suspension system. Previously offered as part of the Technology Package II optional equipment for the range-topping Avenir trim level, the Continuous Damping Control suspension system is now also available on the mid-range Essence trim level with the introduction of the 2022 Buick Envision. The Continuous Damping Control suspension system is designed to optimize a vehicle’s ride and handling through a variety of onboard sensors, active dampers, and electronically controlled, self-adjusting valves.
As for the engine spec, the 2022 Buick Envision will continue to come equipped with the turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder LSY gasoline engine, rated at 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The four-cylinder connects to GM’s nine-speed automatic transmission, which feeds either the front wheels as standard, or all four wheels as an available option.
Production of the 2022 Buick Envision takes place at the GM Jinqiao plant in Shanghai, China.
