GM Authority was the first to report the build-out date for 2021 Corvette models in Zeus Bronze Metallic paint. Now, we’re here to bring you further exclusive coverage, this time with the build-out date for Sebring Orange Tintcoat exterior paint.
The final week of production for 2021 Corvette models finished in Sebring Orange Tintcoat is set for June 26th, 2021. As such, customers looking to own a new C8 in Sebring Orange Tintcoat are advised to place an order before the end of April, as the paint option is not expected to return for the 2022 model year.
Sebring Orange Tintcoat is one of three exterior paint options set to retire with the 2021 Corvette. Zeus Bronze Metallic and Shadow Gray will also be discontinued with the introduction of the 2022 model-year vehicle. As GM Authority reported last week, the build-out date for 2021 Corvette models in Zeus Bronze Metallic is set for June 14th, 2021.
Sebring Orange Tintcoat, Zeus Bronze Metallic, and Shadow Gray are among the least-popular paint options for the new C8 Corvette. According to the National Corvette Museum, Zeus Bronze Metallic had the lowest adoption rate for 2020 model-year vehicles, with 548 units sold, or 2.7 percent of the total volume. Shadow Gray Metallic netted 1,111 sales, or 5.5 percent of the total volume, while Sebring Orange Tintcoat netted 1,377 units, or 6.8 percent of the total volume. The most popular color choice for the 2020 Corvette was Torch Red, with 5,137 units, or 25.2 percent of total volume.
Following the end of production for the 2021 Corvette, the 2022 Corvette is expected to introduce three new colors to the list, which may be called Amplify Orange Tintcoat, Caffeine Brown Metallic, and Hypersonic Gray Metallic.
We have more information on the C8 Corvette exterior paint palette coming down the pipe, so stay tuned. In the meantime, subscribe to GM Authority for more mid-engine Corvette news, Corvette C8 news, Corvette news, Chevrolet news, and 24/7 GM news coverage.

My Shadow Grey being built mid April. They ditched the color I originally ordered, Long Beach Red. They need a Navy Blue like they had in mid 60’s.
What do you mean by get your orange order in by April? I’ve had an vette order in since 1/21/2020 and it still doesn’t have an allocation number! It’s the most frustrating process I’ve ever gone thru!
Zeuse Bronze - Caffeine Brown metallic
Sebring Orange Tintcoat - Amplify Orange Tintcoat
Shadow Grey Metallic- Hypersonic Grey Metallic
The King(s) are dead! Long live the new King(s)!
I guess it may be interesting to see the new/old color pairs next to each other.
LOL. Nailed it.
If it came with a stick shift manual transmission ? I'd buy one. Since it doesn't I won't.
Somebody just got lucky and moved up on the list because of your ' non-buy'. Thank you.
I wanted that orange on my order but it was too expensive , in Canada , for an option , so I went with torch red. Man I cannot wait to get this car , 13 months , waiting , and counting.
The cynic in my mind thinks GM is doing the color changes to slightly differentiate different year C8s without retooling. (Oh you have the old orange, etc. I have the new color.) I'm sure there will be some GM rationale why these changes were necessary, but it's going to be a hard sell for me to accept.
