These Might Be The New 2022 Corvette Exterior Colors

General Motors may introduce three new exterior colors for the 2022 Corvette Stingray that will replace Sebring Orange, Shadow Gray, and Zeus Bronze.

The Corvette-obsessed folks over at Corvette Blogger recently stumbled upon some curious exterior color names on the website of a Corvette distributor in Prague, which is preparing for local distribution of the mid-engine sports car for the 2022 model year. These new exterior colors are referred to by the distributor as the following, with their alleged RPO codes in parentheses:

  • Hypersonic Gray Metallic (RPO GA7)
  • Caffeine Brown Metallic (RPO G48)
  • Amplify Orange Tintcoat (RPO GC5)

Corvette Blogger believes these colors will replace Sebring Orange, Shadow Gray, and Zeus Bronze on the list of available colors for the 2022 Corvette. The site believes these names are actually the internal designations for these exterior colors, as the distributor’s webpage also refers to an exterior color called Tactical Red Tintcoat (RPO GPH) that carries the same RPO code as the existing Red Mist Metallic exterior color. So while these names may not be representative of the marketing names that GM will eventually assign these exterior colors, it is possible that new colors are on the way to replace Sebring Orange, Shadow Gray, and Zeus Bronze.

We also found another site that seems to be for a Corvette distributor located in Slovakia, which lists the exact same color names and RPO codes in a post that dates back to October 2020. That webpage also has photos of the 2021 Corvette exterior colors referred to by the “new” color names. This may suggest that the internal names for these colors are being used instead of the marketing names in certain countries. It therefore seems possible that these “new” colors are actually just the same 2021 model year exterior hues being referred to differently in countries where English isn’t the first language.

The Caffeine Brown makes this body style looks worlds better, I love it a color you don’t see anymore

The brown does seem to soften the sharp edges some, at least in that image. I do like the more rounded styling of the CERV III and Indy concepts

I just want mine , period. Been waiting for more than a year and still no VIN ! Ordered a 2020 in February 19th 2020 , did not get one. Ordered a 2021 in June , 2020, still nothing. I had to give my car as a trade in June 6th 2020 , so I have had no car since then ! I was promised a 2021 C8 convertible this year but I am beginning to wonder , with all these stoppages . I live in Canada and it looks like we do not matter by what I have been reading here. Some have gotten theirs after a 4 months wait in the USA, what was written on this site, anyway !!!! I might start shopping for something else , if this keeps up.

I was in the same situation like you. I canceled my order and bought a Porsche. No regrets here.

I have a Shadow Grey Metallic 2020 Camaro 1SS that I love. Hate to see it go and a lot of C8 owners liked the color too. Hopefully the new Hypersonic Gray looks as good.

Why not a classic BLACK METAL FLAKE LIKE ON THE CADILLAC / LINCOLNS? I have been asking dealers, reps, and Company officials since last year. No one can give me a good answer and totally agree with me! I want my Z06 2022 convertible in classic black metal flake!
