Chevrolet Tahoe Steps Out On Vossen Hybrid Forged HF6-3 Wheels: Video

It seems that Florida-based wheel manufacturer Vossen is experimenting with what its wheels look like on every previous-generation full-size General Motors truck and SUV. First, we saw what the company’s new Hybrid Forged HF6-3 alloy wheels looked like on a Chevrolet Silverado 1500, and then it threw a pair on a GMC Sierra 1500 as well.

Now, Vossen has gone ahead and bolted its Hybrid Forged HF6-3 alloy wheels to a previous-generation Chevrolet Tahoe. Just like the Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500, the Tahoe in question here is painted gloss white, giving us a clean and uncluttered look at these wheels on the full-size Chevy SUV.

Much like the GMC Sierra 1500 that Vossen featured previously, this Tahoe also features chrome exterior trim in addition to black Chevrolet bow ties, matching the machined face of the Hybrid Forged HF6-3 wheel. These wheels are also available in gloss black, which is what we saw on the Silverado 1500 that Vossen previously featured.

Apart from the Vossen wheels, lowered suspension and some body-color mud flaps, this Chevrolet Tahoe appears mostly stock. This would also appear to be a 2017 or later Chevrolet Tahoe, as it is a Premier trim level, which was introduced in 2017.

Vossen says it “utilizes flow forming to cut down on weight and increase strength,” with its Hybrid Forged Series of wheels. Flow forming is a manufacturing process in which the wheel is purposefully cast at a thinner diameter than needed and then spun at high speed as pressure is applied to the inner barrel of the wheel. The company says this process increases the tensile strength of the product and also allows “for a great range of wheel widths within each design.”

Check out the video embedded below to see how the Hybrid Forged HF6-3 wheels look on this third-generation Chevrolet Tahoe. Now, we just have to wait and see what they look like on a brand new, fourth-generation Chevrolet Tahoe.

  • The wheels look ok except they only work with touring tires and they give the vehicle a very stiff and bumpy, uncomfortable ride.

I’d like to know where I can purchase some body-color mud flaps for my 2018 Chevy Tahoe Premier in this color Iridescent Pearl Tricoat?
Looking forward to hearing from you and thank you for your time,
