While many pickup owners like to put lifted suspension and big off-road tires on their trucks, there are a select few who would rather put lowered suspension, big alloy wheels and sticky low profile on it to convert it into a custom sport truck of sorts.
Owners who count themselves among the latter of those two groups may like the products that Vossen Wheels has to offer. The Miami, Florida based company offers a wide range of custom alloy wheel options marketed toward owners of luxury cars and SUVs, sports cars and recently released a video showcasing its new Hybrid Forged HF6-3 alloy wheels on a Chevrolet Silverado.
The Chevrolet Silverado in question also has a custom body kit manufactured by Mexican aftermarket company Air Design Global. The kit, which we have written about in the past, includes a hood applique, three-piece lower air dam, cab roof extenders, tailgate extension pieces, side skirts, a rear fascia extension and rear tailgate applique.
There’s no word on the suspension setup for this truck, but it’s clear that it has been lowered considerably. It could be on air ride, but there are also a number of regular lowering kits available for the Silverado that could lower it by this much. We couldn’t dig up any information on the powertrain, either, but this sport-inspired pickup would be a great candidate for some Lingenfetler or Hennessey engine work, if you ask us.
As for the wheels, Vossen says its Hybrid Forged Series of wheels “utilizes flow forming to cut down on weight and increase strength.” Flow forming is a manufacturing process in which the wheel is cast at a thinner diameter that needed and spun at high speed as pressure is applied to the inner barrel of the wheel. This process stretches the aluminum to the shape of the final product, increasing tensile strength. Vossen says flow forming also allows “for a great range of wheel widths within each design,” allowing it to offer an abundance of wheel sizes for different vehicles.
See how Vossen’s flow-formed wheels look on this custom 2019 Chevrolet Silverado in the video embedded below.
