The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox is only just beginning to head to market and the brand is already dishing out a special edition of the compact crossover. The 2018 Equinox Redline edition is among nine Redlines revealed at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show.
And it goes to show how successful Chevrolet’s strategy of introducing special editions has been to see a new variant of Equinox before initial deliveries even take place.
The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox Redline edition adds cues such as black wheels featuring distinct red hash marks, black nameplates with a red outline, blacked-out grilles and black Chevrolet bowtie logos to help bring a sportier edge to the compact crossover. It looks good, but we stick with our initial perception that the 2018 Traverse Redline edition wears it best of the crossovers.
Expect the 2018 Equinox Redline edition to launch later this year following the regular Equinox.
Specifically critical minerals supply chain development.
Scheduled for a Spring 2025 launch.
Horsepower and grip take the win.
Amid a legal battle with a GM supplier.

Exciting aesthetic package. Simple but elegant I think this was a good move by GM. It's all about pulling the brand together and giving something identifiable across the brands. Well done GM, I can't wait to see some of these on the lot.
Weak
If there are no real performance tweaks, no GM vehicle deserves the "SS" or "Redline" designation. All this serves is to disappoint prospective buyers looking and hoping for a little more steam from their DD family truckster.
Why not just call it the "Sport Appearance Package" and be done with it? Geezes!
At the least there could be done minor sheet metal change, too. Once upon a time GM was able to maximize sales by making the needed sheet metal and powertrain mods.
YES, .... PERFORMANCE needs improved on ""redline"" designation .... along with a bit of an exterior tweak beyond badges. .... make REDLINE mean something. THANKS, e e.
"Redline" used to mean something beyond "eye candy" badging on a GM / Saturn. It stood for increased performance under the hood.
