SAIC-General Motors has launched its latest vehicle for Chinese consumers under its Baojun brand. Meet the Baojun 630.
Baojun says the 630 sedan is meant to appeal to younger buyers looking for a sporty, contemporary ride. The contemporary style is highlighted through its new “aggressively-shaped chrome grille” and “flying-wing headlights”, but attributes Baojun says provide a premium appearance, as well.
The rear of the 630 has been refreshed accordingly, too, with the license plate holder now incorporated into the trunk lid. Additional chrome accents out back tie in the look with the freshened front fascia.
Inside, black seats are trimmed with diamond stitching and woodgrain trim helps provide a more upscale look and feel for consumers. The standard suite of infotainment goodies are also onboard for the modern Chinese consumer.
Powering the Baojun 630 is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine making 109 hp and 108 lb-ft of torque, all while sipping 1.5-gallons per 62-miles driven. Shifting capabilities arrive via a five-speed manual, or a six-speed automatic gearbox.
The 2016 Baojun 630 goes on sale with a sticker price of RMB 59,800, or $9,145 USD, but can ring in at RMB 74,800, or $11,439 USD, with every option ticked.
