General Motors has been experimenting with what the future of personal transportation could look like with its series of EN-V concepts — and it must have felt that it was time for an update. Enter the second-generation EN-V model, with the most noticeable changes being the new yellow shell and a Chevrolet bowtie stamped on the front.
The EN-V concept is gasoline free, and looks to be a solution to urban congestion and pollution issues in the future. The two-seat Segway-esque pod boasts a 24-mile range from its lithium-ion battery that can be recharged from any 120V conventional outlet. Additionally, the EN-V boasts GPS and vehicle-to-vehicle communications capabilities via sensors designed to avoid collisions, and even the ability to switch between autonomous and manual driving.
Considering the inked agreement between General Motors, the Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center and the Shanghai Automotive group to develop an electric vehicle, the future might be even closer than we think.
