Some 2024 Cadillac CT4 Units Will Need A Transmission Control Valve Solenoid Bolt Adjustment

Certain units of the 2024 Cadillac CT4 luxury sedan are included in a Service Update issued by General Motors, related to an improperly fastened transmission control valve solenoid bolt the vehicles may have been produced with.

The affected 2024 Cadillac CT4 units are eligible for a fix that is offered until the end of their New Vehicle Limited Warranty period, as described in Service Update number N242446680 from The General.

GM has supplied a list of Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) for the affected 2024 Cadillac CT4 units. Dealers are also instructed to use the GM Global Warranty Management system to check on the sedan’s Investigate Vehicle History screen before beginning repairs. The fix is to be applied to CT4 cars brought in for other service, as well as affected units in dealer inventory.

To correct the problem – which is caused by a failure during production to correctly torque the transmission valve body solenoid retaining bolt – the bolt should be torqued to the proper specification. No parts are needed for this remedy. However, up to 7.4 quarts of Dextron transmission fluid may need to be added to the transmission.

The number of units affected is currently unclear, though it’s probably low and few to none are likely in customer hands, with most still in transit or dealer inventory.

As a reminder, the 2024 Cadillac CT4 cradles three different engine choices under the hood. These include the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine developing 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine cranking out 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque, or 325 horsepower and 380 pound-feet in the CT4-V, and the twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 LF4 gasoline engine providing 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque in the CT4-V Blackwing.

Beneath the body panels of the Cadillac CT4 the GM Alpha 2 platform provides the bones, while North American production takes place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.
