The all-new third-gen GMC Acadia made its big debut for the 2024 model year, introducing larger exterior dimensions, revised exterior styling, additional interior room, new tech features, and a new engine. Now, we’re here to report fuel economy ratings for the next-generation Acadia crossover.
Although the EPA has yet to officially announce fuel economy ratings for the 2024 GMC Acadia, Natural Resources Canada has recently published estimates. For those readers who may be unaware, Natural Resources Canada is the Canadian governmental department responsible for providing consumers with fuel economy estimates for new vehicles, among other things.
When comparing fuel economy ratings provided by the EPA and NRCan for the 2023 GMC Acadia AWD, we find that the ratings are practically identical. As such, it bears to reason that fuel economy ratings between the EPA and NRCan for the 2024 GMC Acadia will be practically identical as well.
Check out the table below for 2024 GMC Acadia fuel economy estimates. Note that the 2024 GMC Acadia is equipped as standard with all-wheel drive in Canada, hence the lack of fuel economy ratings for front-wheel drive models:

As we can see, the next-generation 2024 GMC Acadia has slightly worse fuel economy ratings than those of the outgoing 2023 model year, regardless of the powertrain selected. In addition to a bigger engine than the 2.0-liter turbo-four in the outgoing Acadia, it’s also grown in size, presumably giving it a higher curb weight. These factors make the new Acadia less efficient.
As a reminder, the 2024 GMC Acadia is equipped with the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine, rated at 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. The GM eight-speed automatic transmission is standard, while U.S.-spec models include front-wheel drive as standard, offering all-wheel drive as optional.
The GM C1 platform provides the underpinnings, while vehicle production takes place at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan.

Good looking car, and I like that colour blue. Fuel economy isn't very good. Wish it were a hybrid.
More HP and a lot more torques with basically the same fuel economy ratings. Fairly certain those numbers can be beaten after break in. When I had an Acadia we regularly saw 29 on the highway and over 24 combined.

Now we know why GM is considering HEVs and PHEVs again. They're going in the wrong direction for fuel economy.
This should be no surprise considering the new model is put back on the larger heavier body and the new engine makes more power and torque than either of the previous engines. Now the Traverse and Enclave are disappointing to see the highway drop for the new versions.
But at least we kept the smooth trouble free V6 right?

Maybe the next gen .05 1 cylinder with 150lbs of boost will help it get 2 more mpg......

I don't know much beyond what I read about the new Acadia, but I do really like the 2023 Acadia AT4 I just picked out for the finacing company.

Sure would be nice to know when Production starts. Dealer states they do not have schedule. How can Generous Motors produce a 2024 so late in the model year and still call it a 2024, should be a 2025. Lincoln Avaitor looking better every day!!!
