Way back in September 2022, GM Authority reported that the Jeep Wagoneer S – among several other Stellantis products – would eventually be released to broaden Stellantis’ all-electric portfolio in North America. Now, it appears as though this EV rival to General Motors’ electric vehicles will be launched later this year.
Set to be released in the United States in Fall 2024, the Jeep Wagoneer S will be first global all-electric vehicle sold under the Jeep brand. Following its U.S. debut, the Wagoneer S will be launched in other markets around the world.
It’s worth noting that although exterior dimensions have yet to be released, the Wagoneer S could potentially rival the Cadillac Lyriq and Cadillac Vistiq, among the Ultium-based EVs announced thus far.
As a reminder, the Wagoneer S will be a premium offering, and will be highlighted by a dual-motor, AWD drivetrain developing up to 600 horsepower and delivering an estimated zero to 60 mph time of 3.5 seconds. Range targets stand at 400 miles, while a Select-Terrain traction management system will be equipped as standard. Notably, a bevy of other “advanced Jeep brand-focused technology and impressive performance credentials” will also be available. Production will take place at a yet-unnamed North American facility.
Other Stellantis electric vehicles set to be launched in the near future include the Jeep Recon and Jeep Avenger.
“This is a forward-thinking strategy to help ensure millions of Jeep fans around the world continue to have a planet to explore, embrace and protect,” former Jeep CEO Christian Meunier stated in a September 2022 press release when the Wagoneer S was unveiled for the first time. “Electrification is great for our brand, making it even more capable, exciting, sustainable and fun.”
Of course, General Motors recently unveiled the 2026 Cadillac Vistiq, to which the Wagoneer could potentially compete against. Positioned above the Cadillac Lyriq in the Caddy EV lineup, not too much is known about the Vistiq at present. However, we do know that the three-row all-electric crossover will ride on the GM BEV3 platform, and will be powered by Ultium battery and Ultium Drive motor technologies.

A true Stellantis whacko naming job. It's much more like a Grand Cherokee than a Wagoneer. Speaking of the latter, I've only ever seen 2 and the local dealer is running ads on TV for $20K off sticker. Big seller, not.
Wagoneer in both size and price will compete more with Escalade IQ. Both are body on frame vehicles. Visitiq sounds smaller than Wagoneer
I wouldn’t buy Stellantis anything, especially not an EV!
I think between GM and Stellantis, it will be a race to the basement for EV reliability.
I liked real Jeeps before Chrysler bought them an put their junk drivetrains in them.
Well, our TRX, 2 Chargers, and Challenger have been fantastic vehicles. I won't be buying an EV though, either.
Supposedly, it’s a wagoneer but will rival the Cadillac lyriq in terms of size and features 😂😂.
This will be another car that Stellantis will bomb on, as it will have minimal interest by Americans. It will be overpriced and out of the reach of most people.
I read 400 mile range and 0 to 60 in whatever. In a very large vehicle. Now imagine those same numbers in whatever vehicle you want to drive. Yes, any vehicle. Take the new tech and insert it into your whatever......... keep the tech coming. Rember when you had to light a candle to see in the dark? of course not, you don't.
Shamefull that just when ya think GM was ahead of the pack uhum 1 or 2 years ago they are at best inline.
At least Stellantis was smart enough to develop a platform that is adaptable to ICE, hybrid, and electric powertrains- unlike gm
@Tigger
So you think they are smart that they spent money to have inefficient vehicles in three segments with this Platform?
The best BEV's are just that, pure BEV's
One day everyone is gonna be like how did Tesla and Chinese EV makers take over the automotive sector across the Globe.
I still believe that GM made the proper decision. Having said that, their platforms are completely too heavy and they need to shift away from Pouch batteries ASAP.
They are smart because they realize that you cannot force people to buy vehicles they do not want. I and many others have no interest in an EV now or in the foreseeable future.
CDJR was better under FCA. Stellantis does not under US Market. They should try to retire Mike Manly.
Jeep Avenger? Dodge Hornet? They borrow names from other divisions. Maybe Chevy should rename Malibu as Cutlass given it's history yet also being a clean slate for younger drivers.
Would love to see a Chrysler Volare Fifth Avenue Edition.
So Europe gets a nice $40k Jeep Avenger EV, and the US gets over large $80k-$100k EV.
Good job Stellantis.
