A possible issue with the trailering software of the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 and 2024 Chevy Silverado HD pickup truck models has been identified by GM, though no fix is yet available.
If your 2024 Chevy Silverado is unable to successfully calibrate one or more trailering functions, it is potentially affected by this software problem.
According to an article on GM TechLink, the problem typically becomes apparent when attempting to set up trailering features on 2024 Chevy Silverado pickups (1500 or HD) equipped with Surround Vision Cameras (RPO code UV2) and Trailer Camera Provisions (RPO code TRG). The issue seems to be related to an error in the truck’s Video Processing Module.
If the pickup’s trailering setup malfunctions, the system will be unable to successfully calibrate any of the following features:
Additionally, the system will also fail to calibrate if any trailer height of 119 inches or more is entered during setup. If the software were functioning properly the owner would be able to enter trailer heights between 0.39 inches and 177.1 inches (or between one and 450 centimeters).
There’s a temporary workaround to avoid this trailer height problem until a fix is available for the whole software issue, GM notes. Regardless of actual trailer height, the system will function correctly by entering 118 inches as the height. This will enable completion of calibration so that all trailer features will function correctly.
There are no negative consequences from setting trailer height at 118 inches when the actual height is 119 inches or more.
GM engineers are currently developing new software for the 2024 model-year Chevy Silverado 1500 and Chevy Silverado HD. This software should cause the Video Processing Module to function correctly and remove all problems with features and calibration.
There is currently no available correction and replacing parts will not fix the problem, only potentially cause other issues. GM does not currently have an ETA on the new, corrected software.

Maybe you shouldn’t pull a trailer if you need to rely on this ridiculous crap. Be a real man and learn how to pull a trailer.
I don't think using this technology makes you any less a man. Instead it helps make a safer driver
Yea sure how can it make a safer driver when it’s not working . All this does is make more distracting drivers.
OMG, another good reason to order a WT without the expensive high tech BS that’s not needed.
Completely unnecessary, all that’s needed are a good set of mirrors and lights.
The trailering software works wonderfully on my 2011 silverado, another reason hate newer vehicles. They are computers on wheels.
