1967 Chevy Camaro With Built LS7 Blasts Through North Carolina: Video

If you’re not having fun, what’s the point? That’s the philosophy that this car enthusiast lives by, and it comes through in his collection of high-end machinery. Now, we’re getting up close to this custom 1967 Chevy Camaro as it gears up for a blast through NASCAR country in the following feature video.

This 1967 Chevy Camaro is owned by Vinny Giglio from Mooresville, North Carolina, who came up as a real estate developer after a bit of a rough patch, financially speaking. Now, Giglio is pouring his well-earned funds into expanding his collection of awesome cars.

The story behind this particular ride gets back to the old mill in downtown Mooresville. Basically, the mill served as the launching point for the town, and after developing the property, Giglio built the Chevy Camaro as a tribute.

“It was a cool collaboration of people located in the town here we’re developing,” Giglio says.

The exterior of Giglio’s Chevy Camaro is covered in red paint with two big racing stripes running down the hood and the spoiler, a nod to the bricks making up the old mill. The color is actually a factory Kia hue that was tinted slightly, while the contrasting stripes are Carbon Flash from the Chevy Corvette line. Giglio also deleted the front bumper, and there’s a custom grille treatment and Vision X headlights to complete the front end. A set of Forgeline DE3S wheels tuck nicely under the factory fenders and complement the red with a satin black finish.

Under the hood, we find a built LS7 V8, pieced together by North Carolina-based Prestige Motorsports. Naturally aspirated, the LS7 is rated at 618 horsepower and 541 pound-feet of torque at the crank. The motor includes a unique engine cover, and looks nice in the bay with the fenders cut to expose some of the new suspension bits. The V8 mates to a T56 six-speed manual transmission feeding a 9-inch rear end.

Detroit Speed, headquartered in Mooresville, was tapped for the new subframe, while Wilwood brake components haul it down.

It’s a sweet ride, and Giglio obviously enjoys driving it. Check out the full build, plus some fun on the street, right here:
