Cadillac Lyriq Debuts In The Middle East

GM recently debuted the Cadillac Lyriq EV crossover for the Middle East market, announcing that the Lyriq will be the first of six new luxury all-electric vehicles set to launch in the region by 2025. The Cadillac EV will arrive in the Middle East market next year.

As is also the case for U.S. models, the Cadillac Lyriq set to launch in the Middle East will feature GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium Drive motors for motivation. The Lyriq model slated for the Middle East will offer a dual-motor, all-wheel drive powertrain juiced by a 12-module, 102 kWh battery pack, with peak output estimated at 500 horsepower and 610 Nm (450 pound-feet) of torque. To note, these are the same figures as the optional Cadillac Lyriq powertrain offered here in the U.S. Range-per-charge is estimated at 500 km (311 miles).

The Cadillac Lyriq will also offer Middle East customers high-speed DC fast-charge capabilities, which can add upwards of 125 km (78 miles) of range in roughly 10 minutes, or 265 km (165 miles) of range in 30 minutes. Under the skin, the Cadillac Lyriq rides on the GM BEV3 platform.

Inside, the Cadillac Lyriq is equipped with high-end wood and metal trim, plus laser-etched interior patterns and a curved LED screen. The Middle East Lyriq will also be equipped with GM Super Cruise sometime in the future, offering hands-free driving during extended highway stints.

Cadillac states that it plans to make 30 percent of transport in Saudi Arabia’s capital city of Riyadh all-electric by the end of the decade, per the brand’s Vision 2030 plan. What’s more, Cadillac aims to go full electric by the end of the decade.
