Watch The Cadillac Lyriq Reveal Right Here

The Cadillac Lyriq battery-electric crossover is poised to make its official debut during an online live stream that will kick off at 7:00 P.M. ET Thursday – and you can watch the entire thing right here on GM Authority.

The Cadillac Lyriq, which is Cadillac’s first-ever EV, will make its debut in concept form, although the concept will be largely representative of the finished production vehicle. Following its debut, the crossover is expected to enter production at the GM Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly plant in Michigan before going on sale sometime in 2022 as a 2023 model year vehicle.

GM has saved most official information on the Cadillac Lyriq for tonight’s debut, but we do know the crossover will ride on the new GM BEV3 platform and will be positioned between the Cadillac XT5 and XT6 with regard to size. Using GM’s new Ultium battery tech, the real-world range is expected to be in excess of 300 miles. We also know it will feature a large 33-inch widescreen OLED display screen, which will serve as both the driver’s display and the central infotainment screen – similar to the screen in the new 2021 Cadillac Escalade.

In addition, the Cadillac Lyriq will feature GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driving technology and is expected to introduce other new safety and entertainment technologies as well.

Cadillac LYRIQ celebrates a new design language for the Cadillac brand, one that is assertive, expressive and modern.

GM has also released a number of teaser images showing aspects of the Cadillac Lyriq concept’s exterior. We already have a good idea of what the vehicle’s front and rear fasciae will look like and GM has released an image showing the shape of its silhouette from the side, too. We also know it will feature a unique charge door that consists of almost the entire front right quarter panel – a design that negates the need for a clunky-looking circular or square charge door port. Stills of the interior have  been circulating online in recent months, as well, revealing the dashboard, center console design and more.

The Cadillac Lyriq debut stream embedded below will go live at 7:00 p.m. ET.

GM Authority will have all the official details on the new Cadillac Lyriq following tonight’s debut, so be sure to subscribe to GM Authority for all the latest Cadillac Lyriq news, Cadillac news, and around-the-clock General Motors news coverage.

  • are we sure it won't be delayed until next year? issa joke guys relax. But seriously I'm anticipating this...... mainly the interior

  • No more heavy complicated Piston engine.

    No more radiator.

    No more hoses

    No more fan belt.

    No more heavy complicated transmission.

    No more drive line.

    No more differential.

    No more exhaust manifold.

    No more exhaust pipe.

    No more muffler.

    No more catalytic converter.

    No more air filter.

    No more oil filter.

    No more oil changes.

    • Interesting list, half the items on it i have sold just this morning, putting money in multiple peoples pockets. I understand that change is inevitable and ev is the future, but a lot of peoples livelihood depends on ice.

Im sure there will be an aftermarket for ev parts, but not as much.

      • @Cadillac Matt:

You can see one of the reasons automakers are so keen on Electrics. So much simpler and less expensive to build.

But the ICE isn't going away any time soon. The transition will be long and slow.

    • it will still have these: radiator, hoses, and air filter.
It still has a cooling system for the Battery and you need the air filter for the HVAC.

    • @Megeebee,

Very good points. Although someone commented on still having a radiator and air filter, that is true but not in the sense (I think) that you meant. One thing about driving an all electric is that you really have a very low cost to drive overall. I had a 2015 Chevrolet Spark Electric a few years ago and loved it. Nothing like zooming past the gas stations and putting your noise up to the dealerships with the very high maintenance charges. On my car, you couldn't even rotate the tires due to different sized in front vs. the rear. And if you lease them (which you should due to huge depreciation), you just charge and drive for the 2 or 3 years. Wonderful.

  • Waiting for tonight, oh
When you would be here in my arms.

Cadillac is the best. Last time I was so excited was the time I met my boyfriend.

    P.s. Im gay.

  • So excited to see this car namely the interior! Wonder what specs it’ll have but knowing what GM is doing with Hummer, Caddy’s EVs will be a home run (I hope)

They even said the switch to EVs is allowing them to do things that previously constrained them

    • EVs have several benefits that you get basically for free.
      1) Quiet interiors - you spend a lot less money than with ICE vehicles isolating the sound of the motors.
      2) Better weight distribution.
      3) Lower center of gravity due to battery weight and placement.
      4) Less moving parts to to wear down (warranty cost)
      5) More passenger space without increasing the size (class) of vehicle
