Corvette Racing could take its 100th win next weekend as the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship heads to California for the 2019 BUBBA Burger Sports Car Grand Prix from Long Beach.
The team has won three of the last five IMSA outings at Long Beach, so its chances at finally locking down win number 100 are now looking higher than ever. The team actually took its 100th total win at Lime Rock in 2016; however, next weekend it will aim for its 100th IMSA win.
The Chevy squad’s last win came at Long Beach in 2018, when the No. 4 Corvette C7.R team of Tommy Milner and Oliver Gavin triumphed over the No. 67 Ford GT of Ryan Briscoe and Richard Westbrook to take victory on the demanding street course and post up win number 99.
Jan Magnussen and Antonio Garcia won the IMSA GTLM class championship last year in their No. 3 Corvette C7.R despite not winning a race all season long. With the No. 4 team also struggling to convert their solid pace into a win in 2018 after Long Beach, the team’s 100th win has so far been rather elusive.
A win next weekend would also be Corvette Racing’s third win in a row at Long Beach after it also won the race in 2017.
“It would be great to get another win there, for sure – No. 100 in IMSA for Corvette Racing,” Milner said. “To win three in a row at any track against this level of competition would be a great achievement. It also would be a great way to get ourselves back into championship contention.”
Westbrook knows how easy it is to get things wrong on a tight street course like Long Beach, though, and is keeping a level head going into next weekend.
“All it takes is a little bit of contact or a brush with the wall and your day is done,” he said. “There are no second chances at Long Beach.”
You can catch the 2019 IMSA BUBBA burger Sports Car Grand Prix from Long Beach on NBCSN at 5 p.m. ET. Race fans can also follow the action via IMSA Radio, which can be accessed through RadioLeMans.com and SiriusXM Radio.

Pretty sure the race is NEXT weekend...qualifying on the 12th, and the race on the 13th per IMSA.com...
Thank you! My mistake.
Got my race weekends all mixed up.
No problem Sam...when I saw your title, I got excited because I thought that maybe I had read the schedule wrong...then I double checked....what a bummer!
At least we have IndyCar this weekend!
EverythingsBlue,
Respectfully, you are incorrect. The article IS CORRECT!
I will be recording it on Dish Network's channel 159, NBC Sports at 5:00 PM EDT.

EverythingsBlue,
Interesting. When I checked Dish Network immediately prior to posting my first message, the schedule *clearly showed* the race being broadcast tomorrow afternoon.
Checked it again just now, and lo and behold, they changed the broadcast date until next Saturday, soooooo . . . my apologies!
I will say that this is not the first time that Dish has screwed up their broadcast schedules. I've missed a few programs that way. Grrrrrrr . . .
Have a good weekend!

What ever the time and day good luck guys and I will be down to see you at Mid Ohio.
