Chevrolet Equinox sales increased in the United States, decreased in Canada and Mexico, and posted its first fourth quarter sales results in South Korea in the fourth quarter of 2018.

Chevy Equinox sales continued to grow in the fourth quarter, with the performance bumping the model to third place in its competitive set in terms of overall sales volume.
The Equinox was outsold by the Nissan Rogue and Honda CR-V, though we must note that the Nissan Rogue figures consist of sales volume of two models – the Rogue Sport and the regular Rogue. The former is a slightly smaller version of the latter with a more raked roofline, and Nissan reports sales of both models on the same line.

The Equinox outsold all other contenders, including the Ford Escape (see Ford Escape sales), Jeep Cherokee (see Jeep Cherokee sales), Subaru Forester, Hyundai Tucson, Mazda CX-5 (see Mazda CX-5 sales), Subaru Crosstrek, the Equinox’s corporate cousin – the GMC Terrain (see GMC Terrain sales), Volkswagen Tiguan (see VW Tiguan sales), as well as the Kia Sportage, Dodge Journey (see Dodge Journey sales), and Mitsubishi Outlander.
What’s more, Chevy Equinox sales grew faster than the segment average. In fact, the Equinox managed to post the second-highest percent sales growth in its segment, with only the GMC Terrain growing faster.
The compact mainstream crossover segment expanded 7.34 percent in Q4 2018 and 10 percent during the complete 2018 calendar year.
The Equinox’s fourth quarter 2018 sales performance is truly incredible, and confirms that despite all the product criticisms, Chevy has created a highly-competitive product that is selling extremely well.
The Equinox held a 13 percent market share of the segment during the quarter. Combined with the GMC Terrain, GM saw 129,834 cumulative segment deliveries, enough to be the leader by nearly 28,000 units and taking 17.3 percent market share.
The Chevrolet Equinox is a compact crossover. It slots above the Chevrolet Trax and below the Chevrolet Traverse. It will also be positioned below the rumored to be the future Chevrolet Blazer. The first-generation Equinox ran from the 2005-2009 model years and was based on the first-generation Theta platform. The second-generation Equinox was offered from the 2010-2017 model years and was based on the Theta 2 platform. Both the first- and second-generation models were "tweeners", in that they straddled the compact and midsize CUV segments in size. The third-generation model was introduced for the 2018 model year. It rides on the GM D2 platform shared with the second-generation GMC Terrain, Chevrolet Cruze, and Chevrolet Volt and, unlike its two predecessors, is positioned squarely in the compact segment.
The third-generation, 2018 and newer Equinox features an all-new exterior and interior, while being slightly smaller inside and out compared to the outgoing model. It also offers an all-new engine lineup and an all-new lightweight architecture that enables a weight savings of over 400 pounds compared to the second-gen model. As a result, the new Equinox gets better fuel economy while also delivering improvements in ride, handling, packaging, and safety.
The Equinox is assembled at the following GM plants:
At a time of year when luxury car ATP usually rises.
Sales decreased 5.6 percent to 16,670 units during the first ten months of 2024.
Specifically critical minerals supply chain development.
Scheduled for a Spring 2025 launch.

447K units between GM twins. Best selling platform in the segment. Impressive!
CANADA MADE MATTERS!!!
Don’t Boycott GM just don’t buy Mexico!
There are still Canadian made GMs
The Equinox have been a very solid success for GM. The Terrain even with its unconventional gear selection design and unusual styling have gained market acceptance. Their redesign came just in time for the big change to CUVs.
Yeah it is easy to get sales when you're basically given them away for the last two months. Almost 20% off sticker LOL
GM please offer real base engine and a better Interior so you won't have to offer 20% on your vehicles.
To be fair, that discount only applies to older select stock 2018 models.
2019 is 16% off right now.
The twins here are going like the last gen. They are growing the longer they are on the market.
As for discounts let’s put the discounts into perspective. Yes it is 16% but only if you use GM financial. It only applies to the LT model.
There is also $4500 on select 2019 models that are in stock and again only if GM financial is used.
They are not exactly giving them all away. The devils in the fine print.
Oh the sales also have nothing to do with Canada. People like the vehicle and 90% of them could not tell you were it was built.
I got one for my wife. I like it so much she drives my new Ram and I drive the equinox. Comfortable, efficient, and looks great. The little turbo makes it pretty snappy too.
better looking than imports but up grade the interior material , smarten up GM get rid of all the cheap plastic in ALL interiors in every division *****build it in AMERICA
I love my '19 LT 2.0T. Easily the best in the segment. Fun to drive too. The interior is simple and elegant, the materials are actually pretty nice. Easy to clean is key. The thing about Chevy interiors is that if you keep them nice, they'll look showroom stock in 10-15 years from now. I looked in the window of an older A4 at the mall recently and it looked like hell. Every "soft touch" trim piece was discolored and cracked, leather seats cracked. The "nicer" the interior in the showroom, the worse its going to look later on. Chevy interiors are easy to clean and keep looking nice.
