GM Canada Sales Increase 15 Percent To 16,791 Units In January 2018

General Motors Company reported 16,791 new vehicle deliveries for January 2018 in the Canadian market, a 15 percent increase compared to January 2017. Sales increased at Chevrolet, Buick and GMC, while decreasing at Cadillac.

“GM was number one in Canada for 2017 full-year automotive retail sales driven by a strong product portfolio in key Canadian market segments,” said John Roth, vice president, sales, service and marketing. “We see this trend continuing, as we continue to offer our customers the most dynamic portfolio of cars, trucks and SUVs that appeal to a wide range of Canadians. 2018 will see that portfolio even further enhanced with new offerings”, Roth added.

General Motors sales overview:

  • Total sales increased 15 percent or 2,185 units to 16,791 units:
  • Retail sales increased 12.4 percent or 1,346 units to 12,185 vehicles, representing 72.6 percent of total January 2018 sales compared to 74.2 percent in January 2017:
    • Chevrolet retail sales increased 19.9 percent to 6,949 units
    • Cadillac retail sales decreased 15.3 percent to 509 units
    • Buick retail sales increased 6.1 percent to 991 units
    • GMC retail sales increased 6.5 percent to 3,736 units
  • Fleet sales increased 22.3 percent or 840 units to 4,606 vehicles, representing 27.4 percent of total January 2018 sales compared to 25.8 percent in January 2017
