General Motors is investing into its U.S. manufacturing base yet again, this time announcing $47 million in total between the Spring Hill, Tennessee, and Bay City, Michigan plants.
Specifically, Spring Hill will receive $27 million to begin assembling the 2017 GMC Acadia in right-hand drive configuration for Holden to be exported to Australia.
Bay City Powertrain in Michigan will receive $20 million for the production of cam rough machining operations for future engines. Bay City currently produces engine components for Cadillac, GMC, Buick and Chevrolet vehicles.
In total, 230 jobs will be retained across both plants
The investment monies come as part of GM’s $1 billion investment across multiple U.S. manufacturing facilities it announced in January.
The sweepstakes closes on December 22nd and the drawing will take place on December 28th.
At a time of year when luxury car ATP usually rises.
Sales decreased 5.6 percent to 16,670 units during the first ten months of 2024.
