SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) has just announced that Wuling MINI EV sales have surpassed the 1.4-million mark in China.
General Motors’ second joint venture in China officially announced that 1.4 million Wuling MINI EV units have been sold in the domestic market so far, further cementing it as the most popular all-electric vehicle in the Asian country. To further boost this commercial momentum, the automaker is preparing the imminent launch of the four-door version of the second-generation, all-new MINI EV.
“The Wuling MINI EV is providing a disruptive solution for urban driving through zero emissions, it is also the first taste of all-electric driving to many young customers and opens up a new world for them to customize vehicles to their liking,” said Executive Vice President of SGMW, Vincent Wong. “With the four-door version, the MINI EV family will maintain its momentum and enable more families and users to do their daily driving in style,” he added.
In particular, SGMW announced that cumulative Wuling MINI EV sales surpassed the 1.4-million unit mark in the Chinese market at the end of November, thanks to the vehicle’s strong sales performance during the same month. In the past month alone, the GM joint venture delivered 38,016 units of the MINI EV and reinforced its strong leadership in the new energy vehicle (NEV) category in China.
First launched in China in late July 2020, the Wuling MINI EV quickly became a commercial success and an icon of the local industry by leading the massive roll-out of electric vehicles in the Asian country. The MINI EV arrived at just the right time to address the common challenges of traffic congestion, tight parking and high fuel costs in Chinese cities. All with a practical, highly affordable and personalized approach.
The Wuling MINI EV is set to reinforce its already high level of popularity in China thanks to an expanded model range, becoming a family of models for different customer profiles. SAIC-GM-Wuling estimates that as of November, the 1.4 million MINI EVs on the road had travelled around 32 billion kilometers – almost 19.9 billion miles – saving approximately 2.7 billion liters of fuel and preventing around 6.3 million tons of carbon emissions.

Whoohoo! Take that, Elon Musk!
Unfortunately, gm only made about a $1.00 of profit for each sale.
This venture was never about profit. It was and still is about China now being the largest stake holder of GM stock.
This is what the Dems want you all to be driving. A Battery-Powered Roller Skate.
