Jamie Fletcher took nearly her entire savings and decided to finish what her late father had started. Following her dad’s passing in 2008, he was never able to finish restoring his 1960 C1 Corvette due to health issues following its disassembly in 1974.
Fletcher decided she wanted to finally take care of that one last thing for her dad, according to The National Corvette Museum.
“Alright dad, I’ve lost my mind, I’m going to do this, let’s do this,” said Jamie. “This is something that has been chewing at me my entire life.”
After a year of restoration, lead by Dan Lardinois of West De Pere, Wisconsin, the car looks identical to how it looked when her mother and father owned it 40 years ago.
Fletcher completed it just in time for this year’s past Father’s Day car show, where it was bestowed numerous awards.
“I know my dad’s up there smiling down,” said Jamie.
