The following comes to us from Marty:
Are there any pictures of the inside of the Cadillac XT5 SUV as well as prices and when it will be available.
Marty,
Thank you for writing in. Like you, we are eagerly anticipating the upcoming Cadillac XT5 crossover. Unfortunately, pictures of its interior, along with its price and availability, aren’t available right now. That said, we love to speculate, so here are some educated guesses:
From an overall design and materials standpoint, we expect the Cadillac XT5 to have a cabin similar to that of the current-generation Cadillac SRX that it replaces. In other words, expect two rows of seating, an assortment of high-quality, soft-touch materials, the button-less CUE system (though we would love some buttons and knobs), as well as a long dash, a disadvantage of the FWD C1XX platform on which it will be based. The only question we have is whether Cadillac will have made any improvements on the vehicle’s gauges, which have been the subject of much criticism in the ATS, CTS, and current SRX. In addition, the vehicle is supposed to feature all kinds of high technology.
As far as price and availability are concerned, we expect the Cadillac XT5 to have a starting price in the high $30,000s, be unveiled at the end of this year (probably at the Los Angeles Auto Show), and become available in the first half of the 2016 calendar year. The XT5 is the first part of Cadillac’s upcoming crossover onslaught, which is set to include two smaller models (than the XT5) and one larger.

It looks LESS attractive than Nox! The XT-5 build looks so thick/bulky in a market where the premium crossover is usually diminutive as is the case with platform mate Envision. This looks like SRX mated with a 2008 Malibu and designed by Chrysler to sit beside the 300. (I know everyone else like this vehicle besides me.)
I'm growing more and more worried about Cadillac's long term success. GM is lucky to have Buick and GMC as semi premium, high margin brands.
Personally I love the looks of the Cadillac XT5. It looks like it will fit in very nice in 2020 lineup. But I have to wonder how long the GM V8 engines will survive. Every year the EPA is back for ever deeper cuts in emissions output. A friend say we, the motoring public are "Low hanging fruit" Even with active fuel management they 'll be back for greater cuts. I live just a few miles from Philadelphia International airport and I can tell you one Boeing 737, or a DC-10 leaves a trail of black soot that washes down over everything. And the lawnmowers, they run like rockets down my street with no emissions deterrent at all.
It makes me wonder how long the V8 has to live. I have a 2014 GMC Terrain and I own a restored 1990 Chevrolet black/gold pickup. The Terrain is AWD and I get better gas mileage in the Pickup and it's got a 305 V8 and a 700R/4? Now I go out of my way to keep the pickup running top as a pin, rebuilt engine, 5W/30 Synthetic oil and I keep the tire a pound extra, so I try to get the best mileage, which is 21 on the highway, 16 around town. Not bad for a 5600 class 2 rated truck.
Now I see Volvo is going to run non gas engines in 2020 fleet. Is the American love affair with our automobiles about to be cut loose.
I think for the past several years the Cadillac has been the STUPIDIST looking car on the road, it used to look good stood out you could see it coming a mile away, now looks like ALL the rest of the STUPID looking cars today will it ever look like a Cadillac again? or just wither up and blow away, like so many have
“I think for the past several years the Cadillac has been the STUPIDIST looking car on the road“...
If you think so, then you must be looking at something that is not a modern Cadillac.
Every Cadillac sedan built today is the best-looking and most unique-looking entey in its segment (ATS, CTS, CT6). If you think those look “stupid”, then a pair of glasses might help ;) The same goes for the Escalade. Not sure about the XT5 or XT4... but either way, you’re way off.
When are they going to bring back Pontiac.Still makes me mad they did away with it but was being made from Holden,SUV with a toyota motor and losts its brand market.Sad
Looking for a Chev. Malibu all electric , 400+ mi. per charge , so is everyone I know. Is one coming? TKS DRS. or Chev. Impala.
When do you think Cadillac might come out with XT5 v sport With the TwinTurbo engine ?
Thanks Bob
I have a 2023 Cadillac ST5 with a step assist on order. This car was ordered because I have developed mobility issues and find it extremely difficult to get into my 2020 Buick Enclave.
Is this vehicle in production now and when can I anticipate the delivery. I should mention that the original order was for a 2022 ST5, but was changed by my dealer to a 2023 model. Seems that G. M. Is pushing the new electric vehicle with no mention of the ST5. I have been loyal General Motors customer for over 50 years and have enjoyed the vehicles, but at the present time my loyalty is becoming rather shakey.
What New engine displacement ,and up is going to be offered in the new Terrain 2025 3rd generation.Thank You Ron
