Katech-Powered Chevelle SS Set To Go Under The Gavel At Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach

It can be argued that the Chevelle represented Chevrolet’s first real foray into the muscle car realm, which would make it one of the most important model’s in its long history. We’ll admit to having a huge soft spot for the Chevelle, and this Katech-powered 1967 restomod example is certainly no exception to our adoration.

This car is Barrett-Jackson’s Lot #425 and is set to go under the gavel at their upcoming Palm Beach, Florida auction towards the end of the month. It may appear vintage, but don’t be fooled by its outward appearance, as this car has more technology stuffed in it than many modern cars on sale today.

Under the hood is a Katech-built ‘Street Attack’ LS7 sending 606 horsepower to the rear wheels through a T56 6-speed transmission and a nodular 9″ Ford rear end. When the going gets twisty there’s full Detroit Speed and Engineering front and rear suspension and Detroit Speed rack and pinion steering. To bring the package to a halt, the owner has installed 14-inch Wilwood discs out front and 13-inch discs out back, along with 6-piston front calipers from the C6 Corvette and 4-piston rear calipers.

The body is far from stock, too, with shaved door handles, flush-mount front and rear glass, shaved roof gutters, special ‘Daytona Blue’ metallic paint with ‘Speed Silver’ accents and much more. Also complimenting the exterior look are HRE wheels shod in high performance Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.

Inside, occpupants will discover an Alcantara wrapped headliner, dash and mirror visors, along with carbon-fiber-faced Autometer gauges with blue LEDs, Corbeau seats, 4-point racing harnesses, custom pedals, a hurst shifter and a full Alpine sound system.

If we’ve piqued your interest with this extreme restomod, check out the listing here before it sells at Barrett Jackson Palm Beach, likely for a fraction of what it’s worth.
