Chevrolet Announces 2014 Silverado Texas Edition

Texas is the largest market in the world for full-sized pickup trucks, so in an effort to recognize the Lone Star State’s love for trucks, Chevrolet has revealed the 2014 Silverado Texas Edition after announcing the range-topping Silverado High Country.

Rather than being its own trim level, like the High Country, the Silverado Texas Edition is more of an equipment group-like expansion package for either the 2014 Silverado LT or LTZ models. The 2014 Silverado LT Texas Edition receives:

  • 20-inch polished aluminum wheels
  • Trailering package
  • Locking rear differential
  • Body-color outside mirror caps and door handles
  • Texas Edition badges

Meanwhile, the 2014 Silverado LTZ Texas Edition adds:

  • Chromed 20-inch wheels, door handles and mirror caps
  • Bose premium audio system

For customers in the other 49 states, a Custom Sport package will be available, which is said to be essentially like the Texas Edition, but without all the distinguishing badge-work.

  • Sorry, I'm sure there are some great Texans out there, but I can't think of too many positive adjectives when it comes to your average one--at least the ones I've come across. If I find out that's the only way to get the trailering package or a locking rear differential I'll be sick to my stomach.
