As Cadillac looks to become a global luxury play-maker, currently armed with the ATS, General Motors has appointed Robert E. Ferguson as the global vice president of Cadillac, a newly created position. Ferguson’s previously-held the position is the vice president for global public policy — he spent a lot of time lobbying in Washington D.C.’s many (too many?) regulatory agencies that oversaw things such as energy, taxing, labor, and finance policies.
Ferguson’s old duties will be absorbed by Selim Bingol, who will keep his current communications role, but will be appointed as GM vice president, global communications and public policy going forward. The move is effective immediately.
Ferguson’s responsibilities will consist of overseeing the marketing, brand management and advertising effors for Cadillac in markets around the world. He will report directly to GM chairman and CEO Dan Akerson. And beginning 2013, Ferguson will also be held accountable for all global Cadillac sales.

Let's hear more about Mr. Ferguson. He should be a very capable leader for Cadillac.
It would be interesting to know what car he owns and drives. What did he own and drive before GM provided him with cars?
