Chevrolet has just revealed the first official teaser of the all-new 2025 Chevy Captiva as the next member of its product portfolio in the Philippines.
The official distributor of the Bow Tie brand in the Philippines, Hariphil Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), revealed the first teaser image of the new 2025 Chevy Captiva, kicking off the marketing campaign for the vehicle’s introduction in the country. The 2025 Captiva will be unveiled locally in the coming days and will expand the brand’s robust lineup of utility vehicles in the Philippine market, which ranges from the small Chevy Tracker to the giant Chevy Suburban.
While the company has not yet explicitly communicated the name of its upcoming new model, the teaser image shows the front profile of the model and it clearly corresponds to that of the 2025 Chevy Captiva – which in some South American markets is marketed under the Captiva XL moniker. In the Philippines, the brand will introduce it as an affordable seven-seat crossover-MPV focused primarily on the country’s large middle-class families.
“Chevrolet in the Philippines will redefine the 7-seater market with its new Crossover-MPV. Yes, Crossover-MPV,” said said Chevrolet Philippines. “Built for explorers, dreamers, and families of every kind, this vehicle offers a combination of flexible space, premium comfort, and advanced functionality-perfect for big adventures, while remaining practical and fuel-efficient for everyday use,” the brand added.
Notably, the Philippines will become the first country in Southeast Asia to introduce the 2025 Chevy Captiva, a compact crossover for emerging markets developed by the automaker’s SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) joint venture in China. The model, originally launched as the Baojun 530, has been marketed for several years in Indonesia and other countries in the region, but directly by SGMW’s official subsidiary as the Wuling Almaz.
The new 2025 Chevy Captiva will soon be launched in the Philippines, where it is scheduled to go on sale in the last quarter of the year. At the moment, it is not clear from where the units will be imported for the country, since SGMW manufactures the model for the Asian subregion at its plant in Indonesia. In any case, since its introduction in 2019, the second-generation Chevy Captiva has been manufactured exclusively in China.
