Automakers are finally managing to improve the quality of their vehicles’ multimedia systems, the J.D. Power 2024 U.S. Multimedia Quality and Satisfaction Study says, with the Cadillac CT4 named as one of the four best current models when it comes to multimedia technology.
Though it was only by a few points, the Cadillac CT4 outperformed even the well-received BMW X4 and Jaguar F-Pace in the Small / Medium Premium vehicle segment of the study.
The Cadillac CT4 scored a whopping 920 points out of 1,000 in customer satisfaction ratings for its multimedia. A number of other General Motors models scored above 900 in several categories, including the Chevy Blazer, Chevy Camaro, Chevy Traverse, Cadillac Escalade, and Cadillac CT5. The Chevy Trailblazer uses a top-rated navigation system as well.
J.D. Power evaluated the 2024 Cadillac CT4 and other 2024 model-year vehicles, including both purchased and leased, based on at least 90 days of ownership. Infotainment systems have been a sticking point for consumers over the past several years as hands-free features become common, bringing in an assortment of new quality and functionality problems.
In fact, problems per hundred vehicles (PP100) with multimedia systems have been ballooning in numbers starting in 2020. The current model year, 2024, is the first in which multimedia quality has improved according to customer feedback. In fact, these issues accounted for more than 25 percent of vehicle quality problems overall during the past half-decade, with 2024 as the first year in that timespan when multimedia caused slightly less than a quarter of new-vehicle issues.
A senior benchmarking director at J.D. Power, Ashley Edgar, describes it as “great to see OEMs and suppliers taking action on what were typically the biggest contributors to the increases in vehicle multimedia quality problems.” Better voice recognition, increased USB port availability, and more consistent volume are among the key improvements automakers have made to their multimedia tech.
As a reminder, the 2025 Cadillac CT4 is powered by one of two engine choices, the standard turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine developing 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque and the optional turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine cranking out 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the 2025 Cadillac CT4-V’s turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B engine generates 325 horsepower and 380 pound-feet, and the 2025 CT4-V Blackwing is equipped with the twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 LF4 engine that belts out 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque.
The 2025 CT4 is still underpinned by the GM Alpha 2 platform, with production under way at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

Where is my CT4 it's been 3 mts. and still not on the line to be built. Then GM said it's up to date on sales. I had the same problem 3 yrs, ago when I ordered a new Camaro.
I would guess, as someone who orders vehicles for dealerships, the part that is lost in translation is you gave your order to a dealer. They saved it as preliminary in OWB, but have not been allocated a model/trim you ordered, OR one of the options you ordered was a 0 constraint item for that store. Customers always use the term "placed my order', but what they mean most of the time is the dealer has saved it as preliminary. "Placed" is an actually status with GM OWB (2000 status), and a vehicle will not make it to that status unless the dealer pushes a preliminary order that will pass all constraints, or builds a different vehicle trim/options that will pass their constraints.
