Griot’s LS7-Powered 1967 Iso Rivolta: Live Photo Gallery

With stunning classic Italian styling and a whole lot of modern American-bred power under the hood, this 1967 Iso Rivolta restomod is true a driver’s dream. Now, we’re taking a closer look with the following GM Authority Live Photo Gallery.

Before we dive into the build, let’s first briefly explain the background. Following the destruction of the second world war, the Italian citizenry needed new low-cost A-to-B transportation solutions, and to that end, Italian automaker Iso Rivolta stepped up with a range of scooters and mini cars, including the Iso Isetta, the egg-shaped micro machine eventually purchased by BMW. With the sale of the Isetta design to the Germans, Iso decided to use the infusion of funds to develop an every day gran turismo model. Enter the Iso Rivolta.

Fast forward to today, and we now have this lovely restomod build to ogle and enjoy. Owned by Richard Griot and built by J&L Fabricating out of Puyallup, Washington, this 1967 Iso Rivolta restomod secured second place in the 2019 SEMA Battle of the Builders, a huge accomplishment considering the outrageous level of competition which the annual event regularly draws.

Outside, the Iso Rivolta looks incredible. The original styling, as penned by Giorgetto Giugiaro, is enhanced with a selection of tasteful modifications, plus Black PPG paint by Jon Beyers Customs. In the corners, we find 17-inch EVOD Industries wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires sized at 235/50R17 in front and 285/40R17 in the rear.

The body and assembly were done by J&L Fabricating, which also fit the GM Connect & Cruise 7.0L V8 LS7 engine and T56 Tremec Magnum six-speed manual. The combo is perfect for this restomod, not only looking fantastic under the hood, but also giving a nod to the 5.4L Chevy Small Block which the Iso Rivolta ran when it was originally produced.

Under the body is a custom Art Morrison Enterprises chassis with a Chevy Camaro rear end. Wilwood brakes with 13-inch rotors provide the stop.

All in all, this build is a stunner, and the fact the owner actually drives it regularly makes it that much better.
