Woodward Dream Cruise Adds New Dream Show Events

Car fans disappointed by the cancellation of the Woodward Dream Cruise last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic will be happy to know that this year’s event looks as though it’s still on track to happen. What’s more, organizers are adding to the experience with the Woodward Dream Show events.

Per a recent post from Detroit Free Press, event organizers are hosting an ancillary event to the Woodward Dream Cruise dubbed the Woodward Dream Show, offering even more gasoline-fueled awesomeness to the calendar.

Held on the M1 Concourse racetrack in Pontiac, Michigan, the Dream Show will  feature more than 1,000 classic cars and new sports cars, which will cruise around the 1.5-mile track, then park for up-close-and-personal evaluation by attendees.

The Dream Show includes gourmet food and libations, as well as appearances from hot rodding celebrities like Bob Larivee Sr., who helped to produce the annual Autorama show. Bob Larivee Sr. will be there to talk shop and sell his book “Hot Rod Detroit: A Complete History of Hot Rodding in the Motor City.”

The new Woodward Dream Show is scheduled to take place Thursday through Saturday, August 19th through the 21st, coinciding with the Woodward Dream Cruise. Tickets to the Dream Show are priced at $100 per day, or $275 for all three days. Event organizers to not expect visitors to be required to wear face masks or observe social distancing by the time the event gets underway in August.

For those car fans looking to get into the Woodward Dream Cruise spirit, but without spending all that cash, the traditional cruise event is currently still on track, providing anyone in town with a chance to watch from the curbside for free. Typically, the Woodward Dream cruise attracts more than a million people to Oakland County, Michigan, with tens of thousands of classic and collectible cars in attendance, many of which run a loop down Woodward between Ferndale and Pontiac.
