Cadillac CTS sales outpaced the segment average during the quarter, a notable turn of events. That enabled the CTS family to be the fourth best-selling vehicle in its segment, behind the Mercedes-Benz E-Class in first (14,409 deliveries), BMW 5 and 6 Series in second (with a cumulative 13,590 deliveries) and the Audi A6/A7 in third (cumulative 6,735 deliveries) – both of which are brand new for the 2019 model year.

The CTS finished ahead of the Volvo 90 series (1,849 units), Genesis G80 (739 deliveries) and the Acura RLX (514 deliveries).
The midsize luxury car segment contracted 11 percent in Q4 2018 and nearly 11 percent during the complete 2018 calendar year.
On the one hand, the 9 percent increase in Cadillac CTS sales in Q4 2018 is very welcome news. On the other hand, sales paled in comparison to segment leaders such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW, accounting for 5.8 percent share of the segment.
We attribute the increase in Cadillac CTS sales to healthy incentives on the model during the fourth quarter, allowing the model to capture share from some rivals. We expect CTS sales to remain at their current levels due to the following factors:
We don’t foresee CTS sales picking up much until its indirect replacement – the CT5 – arrives in the 2019-2020 timeframe.
The Cadillac CTS is a midsize luxury sedan family that includes the CTS Sedan, CTS V-Sport Sedan, and ultra high-performance CTS-V variant. The vehicle slots above the compact Cadillac ATS and below the full-size Cadillac CT6.
The current, third generation CTS was introduced for the 2014 model year. The vehicle is based on the extended-length wheelbase variant of the GM Alpha platform. The same platform underpins the sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro while a shorter variant of the same architecture underpins the Cadillac ATS.
For the 2018 model year, the CTS gets a new exterior color, an automatic heated steering wheel, the all-new CUE 3.0 infotainment system, and the deletion of the Carbon Black Package. For the 2019 model year, the CTS loses several exterior colors as well as the Morello Red Package, while the CTS-V loses two exterior colors, gains two more, and deletes the Championship Edition package. The CTS is expected to be replaced by an entirely new, next-generation model called Cadillac CT5 for the 2020 model year.
The Cadillac CTS is built exclusively at the GM Lansing Grand River factory in Michigan operated by GM USA. The vehicle is currently not offered in China, which will likely change for the CT5, since we expect a GM China factory to build the CT5 for the Chinese market.
Plus, a nationwide lease on all-electric off-road Pickup and SUV.
Extra comfort for rear-seated passengers.
Filings made in 24 countries, so far.
The sweepstakes closes on December 22nd and the drawing will take place on December 28th.
At a time of year when luxury car ATP usually rises.
Sales decreased 5.6 percent to 16,670 units during the first ten months of 2024.

What might help Cadillac improve sales across the fleet is if Cadillac made their advanced SuperCruise available given that the competition foreign and domestic have already introduced similar systems in their fleet which means Cadillac and General Motors will be playing catch up.. yet another Black Eye for GM CEO Mary Barra who doesn't seem to know what she's doing.
I thought we'd determined that the CT5 will be sized like the CTS but priced close to the 3 and C, with the CT4 competing with smaller sedans, too.
Realistically, it's the only way they can compete because of their cramped back seats, which have suddenly become important to reviewers since Cadillac matched or beat the Germans in driving dynamics.
Reviewers are japanese-suck**rs. But also german-suck**rs. In fact, they hate american cars.
I do not find the back seat cramped in my CTS. The ATS does have a cramped back seat.
Such a good looking, nice driving car. At one time it moved over 50 thousand units in a year. I look forward to picking one up used for a fraction of the 70k price on a new premium unit where i live. Being overpriced was one of the 3rd gens biggest faults.
I loved my current gen CTS until the CUE touchscreen became inoperative 90 days out of warranty. GM refused to repair it. They wanted $1400 to fix it. I probably won't buy another one because of this. Maybe better product suppport would help sales. All Cadillacs have this problem dating back to 2014.
I respond to this as someone who owned a second-gen CTS-V in both sedan and coupe versions. The advent of the Alpha platform made the third-gen CTS one of the best driving cars on the planet. It was a Car and Driver Top 10. Unfortunately, it came with some curious marketing issues. It was much larger and much more expensive than the previous model, so the owners of the popular second-gen did not view it as the natural next car in line for them. The V-Series, which could previously be had well-equipped for under $75,000, was now pushing $100,000. While the V-Sport was absolutely great, it did not offer AWD like many competitors, and the same TT6 was available in the ATS with full V-Series treatment. Unlike the second-gen CTS, there was no coupe variant. And when the CT6 arrived, the CTS was too close in both size and price to occupy a distinct place in the lineup. Plus Cadillac never really marketed the car. I hope that the CT5 properly corrects all of these missteps.
This looks real good for CT5 if old "flawed" CTS is selling well late in it's life.
