Aftermarket companies itching to begin product development for the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and 2019 GMC Sierra now have access to the pickup’s OEM CAD data.
CAD, computer-aided design, data for the trucks are is available for crew cab models with 5-foot-8-inch- and 6-foot-6-inch-pickup beds, SEMA reported. The data is available via the SEMA Garage Tech Transfer program.
SEMA can also request additional OEM CAD files if an individual or business doesn’t find the desired information.
Pickup trucks have help boost aftermarket vehicle spending in recent years. The most recent SEMA market report showed an eighth consecutive year of growth with $43 billion spent in 2017. SEMA expects the figure to grow in 2018. Pickup trucks accounted for $12.44 billion of the total figure, or 29 percent of aftermarket parts sales.
