Michael Simcoe may be the new kid on the block when it comes to his current position, but he’s certainly no amateur in the automotive design world.
He’s a veteran of General Motors’ design departments and traces his design heritage back to Australia, where he worked with Holden for quite some time. Now, he’s the man in charge at GM design, recently tapped to succeed Ed Welburn as Vice President of Global Design.
Simcoe attended a recent Hagerty seminar to talk about what inspires automotive designers, and where design is heading in the future. He was also joined by Ford’s Moray Callum and Fiat Chrysler’s Ralph Gilles.
