23 Percent Of Buyers Have Chosen A Manual Gearbox Option For The 2016 C7 Corvette

One day, it’s very likely the manual gearbox as we know it will go the way of the dodo bird. Take rates for row-your-owns consistently dwindle with each passing model year. However, there is still a select group of customers looking for more involvement.

According to Road & Track, 23 percent of 2016 C7 Corvette buyers said yes to a third pedal, per the National Corvette Museum’s model year breakdown. In total, 9,249 of the 40,689 Corvettes built for 2016 were equipped with the seven-speed manual transmission. Crunching some numbers shows that is down 10 percent over the 2015 Corvette model year.

The 2016 C7 Corvette Z06 was the most popular variant to receive a proper manual but the rarest Corvette you’ll find with row-your-own is a C7 Corvette Z06 convertible. Just 590 were built with three pedals.
