Action Express Racing topped Thursday’s FP2 practice session ahead of Sebring, with Christian Fittipaldi posting a time of 1:53.850 in the no. 5 Corvette Daytona Protoype.
The team’s quick pace in FP2 was far from a surprise after Dane Cameron was fastest in FP1 earlier in the day in No. 31 AXR Corvette DP. The No. 31 car was second fastest in FP2 with a time of 1:54.283 in the hands of Scott Pruett. Starworks Motorsports’ Daniel Morad was third fastest with a time of 1:54.334 in the No. 24 BMW-Riley DP.
Porsche topped the timesheets in GTLM after Nick Tandy and his Porsche 911 RSR narrowly edged out Corvette Racing’s Oliver Gavin in the Corvette C7.R. Tandy posted a lap of 2:00.041, while Gavin had a best time of 2:00.070. Scuderia Corsa’s Alessandro Pier Guidi was third fastest in the Ferrari 488 with a time of 2:00.282. The second Corvette C7.R was second from the bottom in FP2 with a time of 2:00.875.
