Sally and Jack Kosmatka of Austin, Texas were the proud owners of an antique Cadillac collection. The five well-preserved pre-WWII automobiles and a travel trailer have been stored in a warehouse behind their home near Austin for roughly 45 years, and include:
At some point, Sally and Jack decided it was time to set their possessions free and let someone else enjoy or restore them, as they had hoped to earlier. While a grand opportunity for a fellow Cadillac collector, we just can’t help but feel sympathetic for Sally and Jack.
“It came to a point where we realized we’re never going to be able to take them out and fix them like we wanted to. So this afternoon, we’re gonna lose all of our babies”, said Sally.
We’re sure Sally’s words hit home for some of you out there, and rightfully so. If you ask us, we would be just as sad to see these Caddys go, especially given the sentimental value of the cars for the couple. This past June, the Kosmatkas said an emotional goodbye to the vehicles, which have become known as the Texas Barn Find Collection.
We’re a bit partial to the 1932 Victoria Convertible, but couldn’t agree on an absolute favorite of the collection. Check the video and let us know which one out of the five antique Cadillacs you would choose.
