Jürgen Klopp has been named manager of Liverpool FC, after seven seasons as coach with Mainz and Dortmund. Liverpool reportedly looks to new heights by bringing in Klopp, and it remains better news for the Opel-Vauxhall brand, as Klopp will remain the brand ambassador for both.
“I am really looking forward to this new challenge as Liverpool is a very special club for me. I had planned a much longer break, but the events and happenings over the last two weeks forced me to take action. Then everything happened really fast and from tomorrow on, it is back to full power,” said Klopp on his new position.
Clop will merely trade his black Opel Insignia OPC for a new red 2016 Vauxhall Astra, with the Liverpool position being his first ever abroad. Vauxhall remans the UK Car Partner for the Liverpool club.
“We are very happy that our brand ambassador has accepted such a challenging task. We are especially happy that he will still be driving his official company car, the Insignia,” said Opel Group CEO Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann on Jürgen Klopp’s move to England.
Time will now tell if Klopp can upset leading teams from Manchester and London.
