A soft top sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro has been spied testing once again, giving us one more round of photos to add to our long list of pre-production 2016 Camaro sightings. The car in question today, spotted by WorldCarFans, is heavily disguised, despite Chevrolet running the coupe version of the car with minimal camouflage at the Nurburgring in Germany last year.
Chevy’s camouflage does an adequate job at covering up their prototype, however it’s safe to assume it will look similiar to the teaser image of the coupe we uncovered last month, except with a soft top roof. The coupe and the convertible also seem like they are being developed alongside one another, which could be a sign the two models will debut alongside one another.
A sixth-generation Camaro convertible could also be the first convertible on General Motors’ Alpha platform, which also underpins the current Cadillac CTS and ATS. The version of the chassis expected to be employed in the Camaro should be stiffer than the Zeta platform in the outgoing fifth-gen model, important for a soft-top car, and lighter as well.
