NCM Motorsports Park Outlines Goals For The Future

The National Corvette Museum’s Motorsports Park was a huge investment by the NCM and relied heavily on sponsorships and donations to be completed. The NCM knows it’s crucial to the Motorsports Park’s survival that it remains filled with eager drivers and motorsports fans, which is why it set a goal of booking 200 days of events for the track’s first year of operation.

According to the Bowling Green Daily News, the NCM is already approaching its 200-event goal, with 189 days scheduled so far. Despite being situated directly across from the NCM, the track is open to all makes and models and will welcome the Bluegrass BMW club as its first client in October.

The Ron Fellows Performance Driving School, who sponsored the track, has also booked 14 days in June, July and August 2015 for driving school sessions. The demand and response to the driving schools held on those days will determine whether the NCM wants to implement a long-term performance driving class at the track, most likely also ran by Fellows.

Right now, the NCM still needs more sponsorship to complete the work at the track. Bowling Green Daily News says the garage complex and pavilion areas still need funding, which Motorsports park general manager Mitch Wright said he’d like to get done before anything else. After those aspects are completed, work will commence on the Holley Performance Products Control Tower and Event Center.

The first stage of construction on the NCM Motorsports park is almost complete, Wright said. When done, the Phase I park will consist of a 4-mile course that can broken up into two East and West courses, a “Grand Course” and a “Grand/Maximum Straight Course,” with a long front straightaway section. A local community grand opening for the park is scheduled for September 16.
