Lingenfelter Previews LPE Stingray, 720 HP Supercharged LT1 V8 Crate Engine

As is tradition, Chevrolet will slowly roll out performance focused versions of the latest iteration of Corvette, the C7 Stingray. But if you’re craving those extra horses and can’t wait for the impending Z06 or ZR1, then Lingenfelter Performance Engineering (LPE) has you covered.

The Indiana-based General Motors tuning specialists unveiled their supercharged 6.2 liter, LT1 V8 at the SEMA show earlier this month. Or at least what was left of an LT1, as LPE added an array of their own parts including ported heads, camshafts, valvetrain components, fuel upgrades, and a TVS2300 supercharger. These components help the LPE LT1 produce 720 horsepower at 6500 rpm and 655 lb-ft at 3800 RPM. The supercharger is running relatively low boost, yet capable of producing full power at 5.3 psi.

LPE has yet to release performance specs on their official tuning packages for the 2014 Corvette Stingray. If the current C6 Corvette packages are anything to go off of, there will be several tuning packages for the car, starting with relatively low 500 horsepower tunes, to 900 horsepower forced induction builds.
