Chevrolet Hints At Upcoming New Vehicle On Track For 2013

Alright, people. We all know about NASCAR, its left turns, and its minimal involvement with automakers. And in NASCAR, the Impala has represented the Chevrolet brand since 2007 when it replaced the Monte Carlo. But by 2013, the Impala’s name in motor sports will be retired and replaced by a new name.

Who the hell cares, right? Stock cars are all the same. Names don’t matter, yes, but the juicy part about this news is that this yet-to-be-named Chevrolet name seemingly on track for 2013 will be based off a new production vehicle that will join the Bow Tie brand. And while Chevy isn’t ready to reveal the upcoming machine to the world just yet, the press release below does state that both the NASCAR racer and the production car destined for the market will be unveiled in the coming year.

So lets wave the green flag and make off with the speculations. There have been several hints of a successor to the painfully short-lived Pontiac G8 here in North America. In fact it’s one of those rumors that refuses to go away, yet is currently one of the best guarded secrets of the industry. Looking at Holden’s operations in Australia, we know that there’s a newer Commodore in story for the 2014 model year — right on track for the new vehicle’s 2013 calender year launch. A civilian Caprice PPV, perhaps? Does this mean Zeta? Plenty of signs point to it. Unless of course, you’re expecting GM to continue its utilization of the new, light, and flexible Alpha platform.

Damn, I mean you can really just pick the hardest things in life and attach Dodge's name to it...and it would work!

  • i likr the molotov thats awesome sounding. but the reason i chose assault is cause if you look up corvette in a dictionary "it is a small gunship" thats why i chose the name

  • If the call it a Monte Carlo, it had BETTER be a coupe. If I can't have a new Pontiac Grand Prix, I'll take a new Chevrolet Monte Carlo. SS, of course.
