We’re another day closer to the launch of the highly, highly anticipated Corvette C7. And on this day, photographers well-trained in automotive espionage managed to capture what is unmistakably a C7 driving over a fresh snowfall around the GM Milford Proving Grounds in Michigan winter testing facility in Canada.
From the looks of it, the new Corvette seems to directly resemble the controversial renderings that were released not too long ago. This means that we will see more upright headlamps, and angled tail-lamps in the rear. The Exhaust remains center-mounted, and the rear tires appear to be massive. For more photos, visit Autoblog. And in the meantime, be sure to read up on all of our collective data on the upcoming 2014 Corvette C7.

I would say that the rendering is dead on with that much camo, is jumping to conclusions...
I would say you're being dismissive. Make sure to have a good look at both the spy photos and the renderings. The profile, the way the pillars line up, the lights, the grille, the exhaust mounts...
I was starting to wonder that the CODE had stolen all of Corvette's thunder, but just in time the Corvette fires back!
I just think it's a crying shame not to do the "SideSwipe" version Stingray from Transformers. A 60th anniversary/ (50th of the split-window) really needs to happen. Too many collectors & enthusiasts want it.
I think these photos were captured in Canada. But other than that, this looks very similar to the earlier renderings. The headlamp covers appear to be long just like the headlamps on the rendered picture. I dont know how im going to be able to wait a year for this bad boy to be unvield. im already dying to see it. I wonder, though, if the new GM trucks will be unvield before this car though. 2013 is a big year for GM. Corvette, pickups, Impala and CTS should be making their way to showrooms.
Well, well. It seems Jalopnik was telling the truth. That's too bad. That Corvette was the worse design in Corvettes history. An absolutely horrible amalgamation of way too many design styles (GTR, Camaro, C6, and the most obvious: the 599). The current generation is a beautiful design, especially the new 2013 60th anniversary 427 roadster. This car, no matter how much I try to like it, is terrible. I know it will look better without camo, (again if you want to see it without camo go to Jalopnik's page.)but it will never be as attractive a car as it could have. GM is trying to please way too many people here: old fans, younger fans, Euro fans, Japanese fans, and it isn't going to work.
If GM had used the Stingray concept and cleaned up the front and back (by that I mean not quite so concept carrish and more real world car.) and kept the low slung swoopy fendered look, they would have had a winner. That car, at a little over 3000 lbs and with a blown or turbo charged 5.5 litre making 750 hp, would have been a car I would have given my left foot for. (it's ok, I would forsake the clutch pedal and enjoy tearing through the gears with the dual clutch paddle shifter set up.)
Unfortunately the Jalopnik Corvette is going to be real.
And GM just lost a loyal Corvette fan. (Owned 2 and was waiting for the C7)
Time to start shopping those 911's.
YES!
Enbrace the future, Corvette! Look the part and leave the blue collar worlld behind! You're suppose to be a global benchmark fighting the best from all corners of the globe and they won't take you serriously if the car conjours up images of banjos, bowling alleys, and Elvis impersonators.
One thing though, I am rather disapointed that it appears that the Corvette is still riding on the Y rather than underpinned by a newer, smaller, lighter platform.
Manoli, these are pictures from the great white north not milford, your thought that it looks like the earlier rendering is accurate, you have a good eye , with a few caviates that not all the lines given in the rendering are not accurate and some of the cars details can only be seen in person and do not translate well to a drawing, the rear 3/4 views do not translate well in the earlier drawings. you will see more and more of the vette in the near future hope this helps.
It does help. Coincidentally Michigan had some good snowfall yesterday...
I like it. Hopefully lots of non Corvette enthusiast will to! I can already hear the whining 5 years form now about how they didn't go far enough with the C7 and it looks too much like a C3...STILL...SMH.
They will blow it again. No Sideswipe is a huge mistake, GM is full of old-timers.
Another grey haired evolution for the senior Vette owner. Too bad.
I knew GM would get this c7 design wrong. Not what I expected. It looks too camaroish for me to ever purchase. I love the design of my 08 zo6 , in my opinion, blows this car away! Actually there is nothing at all that I like about it.It is a rather ugly car.
