Opel GTC Caught Testing In Michigan With Experimental Exhaust, U.S. Arrival Imminent?

The rakish new Opel Astra GTC hatchback that will grace Europe has been caught driving on the roads of Michigan sporting some noticeable and unique features in the back. The car is shamelessly flaunting a set of crude tailpipes, which suggest a new exhaust system in the works. Secondly, the protruding tail lamps seem to point towards a new set of lights crafted to meet American requirements. Will it launch as a Buick? The evidence is mounting…

  • Ok, looks like we will see this vehicle, good... Buick, Chevy, Opel at this point who cares what it is. At this stage I think it should be a Buick.

    • As long as it costs more than $25,000, carrying a "premium" price tag rather than a mainstream one.

  • manoli you will see this buick soon, with a slight twist on the engine that is in the europe version. the exhaust gives some of this away as the new engine needs a much more tuned exhaust for proper sound. this will be fast and name has not been decided. the front facia and rear bumper wil change a lot compared to the europe version. the engineers are having some fun with this car right now hope you will like the final results.

  • I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A 4DOOR .I THINK A LOT OF PEOPLE WOULD LIKE AND NEED A 4DOOR WITH A HATCH,COME ON BUICK DO IT,I BET IT WOULD SELL.

  • jd, what does it mean when you say we'll see it soon? Like 6 months? 12? 18? Getting ready to put cash down on a Regal GS but would love something even more entertaining.
