General Motors is increasing its emphasis on electric vehicles with its latest investment of $325 million in its transmission facility in Warren, Michigan. The investment is geared towards future EV components, and will add/retain 418 jobs (whatever that means). Currently, the plant and its present staff of 679 employees build transmissions for the Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave. GM wouldn’t disclose the timing of the project.
