As GM Authority reported last week, General Motors has just opened the all-new The Durant Guild Experience Center Shanghai in the iconic Chinese city.
The automaker’s premium import and lifestyle platform in China officially opened the all-new The Durant Guild Experience Center Shanghai as its flagship store and first permanent location in China. The first experience center of GM’s new franchise in Shanghai opened on August 20th to support the commercial rollout of The Durant Guild and its exclusive line of imported vehicles in the Chinese market.
“The inauguration of the all-new Brand Center marks an important milestone in the acceleration of The Durant Guild’s business,” said President of The Durant Guild and Vice President at GM Premium Import, Leon Li. “The facility is an interpretation of classic and modern flair, offering customers an inclusive, comprehensive and unique experience with The Durant Guild brand and our premium lineup,” he added.
Located in the heart of the city, the all-new The Durant Guild Experience Center Shanghai is a premium facility with a next-generation design inspired by GM’s iconic Factory One. Its distinctive framed façade and multiple rectangular windows span the first four floors of a modern corner building, painted in matte black with gold highlights that blend Chinese cultural and design elements into a gallery-style space.
To connect the platform with customers, The Durant Guild Experience Center Shanghai includes a vehicle display area, a lifestyle retail area and cultural space, and a café lounge. Each visitor can enjoy a personalized automotive cultural tour about GM’s halo products and rich history, with services tailored to meet their individual needs and lifestyle.
The all-new The Durant Guild Experience Center Shanghai also introduces the new official Durant Guild franchise icon in the shape of a shield and the letter “D,” inspired by the inscription on the front of the first Durant Building in Detroit. The Shanghai experience center is the first of seven branded centers The Durant Guild will open in major cities across China, including Beijing, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Shenyang and Xi’an. It will also open 14 delivery and service centers in cities across the country by early 2025.
